With the purpose of strengthening its social commitment and positively impacting the community, Safetline, in partnership with OSC Contato from Hortolândia, carried out the specific initiative “Solidary Christmas – Be someone's Santa: adopt a letter and make a child happy”.
The initiative consisted of adopting letters written by children assisted by the OSC, allowing Safetline employees to sponsor the requests and make the children's Christmas even more special.
When solidarity mobilizes people
During the month of December, the letters were made available to Safetline employees, who could choose a child to sponsor. In addition to the requested gift, each sponsor was invited to write a letter, creating a gesture of affection that went beyond material delivery.
Participation was so expressive that the letters ran out quickly, leaving many employees wanting to participate, but without an available letter — a reflection of the engagement and solidary culture present in the company.
A day awaited all year long
The closing of the initiative took place on December 18, 2025, during the traditional Christmas party of OSC Contato — the most anticipated moment of the year for the children.
Representing Safetline, the Industrial Operations Director, Victor Smilgys, was present, accompanied by Larissa Riccetto (Organizational Psychologist), Thauany Pereira (HR), Stefany Silva (DHO) and Gustavo Rocha (Marketing). On the occasion, Victor highlighted the importance of initiatives like this and reinforced that involvement in social actions is part of Safetline's DNA.
The work of OSC Contato and the impact of the initiative
Under the coordination of Leile Albano, OSC Contato operates in the municipality of Hortolândia, offering services through the Coexistence and Bond Strengthening Service (SCFV). Currently, 65 children and adolescents participate in after-school activities, receiving socio-educational support, developing skills, and strengthening community, cultural, and citizenship bonds.
The impact of the initiative was conveyed in the report of one of the OSC volunteers:
“From the moment the children write their letters, their anxiety goes through the roof. The OSC has a whole preparation process with the children, where they wait in an organized manner and can only open their gifts at home to avoid comparisons.”
“A boy received a gift in one of the past years; however, he had to leave. But because of these very special moments, the child's mother decided to enroll him again, because he really wanted to receive the Christmas gift.”
More than gifts, transformative experiences
